What documents do I need to enter Ivory Coast as a US citizen?
Because the USA is not on the list of prohibited countries for visa-free travel to Ivory Coast, an e-visa is REQUIRED for all US visitors. Currently, the Ivory Coast Ministry offers two (2) types of electronic visas to US citizens:
- Tourist e-visa: This type of visa is used for tourism activities and allows for multiple entries for stays of up to 30 days (1 month).
- Business e-visa: US travelers are authorized to stay in Ivory Coast for 30 days (1 month) on each business visit.
Both of these visas are valid for three months from the date of issue and allow multiple entries.
Ivory Coast travel restrictions for US citizens are comparable to many other countries. To apply for an e-visa, you must meet the prerequisites below:
- A valid passport with a 6-month validity period beginning on the day of arrival.
- It's recommended that your passport should have at least 01 blank page for visa stamping.
- Yellow fever is required.
- A detailed copy of the passport biographical information page.
- A recent photograph of the applicant, passport-sized and on a white background.
- Confirm flight tickets and hotel booking if applicable.
For US applicants, you should understand clearly the difference between the passport card and passport book to avoid mistakes during visa application and entry procedures.
